The Client
RGM is the only fully independent BMW and Kawasaki specialist in the North West. They service and repair motorcycles for private owners and supply genuine parts for all major motorcycle manufactures including BMW, Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki. Owner Roy Gardener has been working on motorcycles for over 40 years and set up his own business in 2003.
The Challenge
When working on a bike, Roy needs a product which will lubricate, dewater, penetrate deep into the machinery and moving parts and ensure all areas are protected from corrosion. Having used ACF50 in the past, he found it too thick and sticky. It cakes on, which can be difficult to remove, and does not leave a pleasant finish.
The Solution
Steelgard is the answer! Roy says “It does everything it says on the tin!” During repairs he uses it liberally to lubricate, repel water and leave a protective film to ensure corrosion does not have a chance to set in. It is much thinner than alternatives like ACF50, depositing a film which is only a few microns thick, is not sticky or greasy and does not attract dust and dirt. It leaves such a good finish he even uses it to shine up black parts after valeting.

Alternative products are often thick, greasy and difficult to apply. Traditional oils can attract dirt and dust, which doesn’t just look unpleasant, but can reduce performance. Standard dewatering fluids and lubricants do not give the same level of corrosion prevention. As Roy says “Steelgard does everything!”
