ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised Quality Management System that can benefit any size of organisation. Over a million organisations worldwide have implemented this standard and used the process to improve their business practices and Vapor-Tek is proud to be one of them.
Vapor-Tek first achieved ISO 9001 accreditation in 2015. It’s an important step for companies to take because, even before considering the many benefits it brings to our internal processes, many larger companies consider it to be a minimum standard for suppliers to hold so being accredited can open doors for Vapor-Tek to supply companies with this requirement.
The accreditation process and reviews are a good exercise for Vapor-Tek to go through. With the normal visiting schedule on hold due to Covid-19 there is a significant amount of paperwork to complete so we can submit evidence that we comply with all the requirements but we know it is a worthwhile exercise. When we first applied for accreditation we realised that it ensures that processes are in place that probably should be there for anyone doing business today but, especially for smaller companies, can seem difficult to implement and maintain when shortcuts save time in the short term.
The regular reaccreditation allows us to review our processes and make sure we are as efficient and resilient as possible. As part of this year’s review, we are carrying out a survey of a selection of our customers to make sure they are happy with our products, ordering process and customer service. This is a great opportunity to touch base with some of our regular customers as well as checking in with a selection of those we may not have heard from for a while. We can find out what we are doing well and where we can improve.
We are grateful to our customers for their feedback and hope they will take the opportunity to give constructive criticism where appropriate so that we can ensure we continue to grow our relationship and meet their expectations going forward.
ISO 9001 leads to a certificate that gives other companies a level of confidence when dealing with us – it shows we have strong corporate governance and allows us to compete on a more level playing field with big businesses vying for the same supply contracts.
It is also a powerful business improvement tool that helps us to ensure we are continually improving, streamlining operations and keeping an eye on costs. We have learned to evaluate the way we do business and how to work more effectively with stakeholders and our supply chain.
Vapor-Tek’s product range is fairly unique. Despite the adage that “Prevention is better than cure”, businesses lose £millions to corrosion issues every year in lost stock, damaged equipment and interventions to repair or replace corroded materials. Most of our customers approach us only after they have identified a problem. Using corrosion preventatives prophylactically is the most cost effective method. Our range of contact and volatile corrosion inhibitors are clean, quick and simple to apply, allowing you to protect everything from tiny components to entire vehicles; from internal machinery to whole water-filled systems.
Vapor-Tek produces a range of high-performance corrosion preventatives from its premises in Bolton.
Steelgard is a range of contact corrosion inhibitors. With formulations manufactured to meet MoD and NATO standards and used by customers worldwide, including Rolls Royce and JCB, on diverse products from metal component parts to the nuclear submarine fleet.
Vaporol is an extremely effective Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) which protects the inside of things. We also offer a water-based version, Aquavap, which has all the benefits of Vaporol in an aqueous formulation, which can be rinsed away if required.
Aquatest – renders water completely non-corrosive
Whatever your corrosion problem, we have a clean, simple and cost-effective product to prevent it.
